Baldur's Gate is a CRPG (Computer Role-Playing Game) set in the Forgotten Realms. It mainly uses the second edition AD&D (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons) rules.
It is the prequel to Baldur's Gate II, and has an expansion pack called Tales of the Sword Coast.
Baldur's Gate uses a game engine call Infinity Engine.
Storyline setting is based on Forgotten Realm after the event that causes 'The Time of Troubles'.
