Multiclassing

"Multiclassing" refers to gaining levels in two or three character Classes at the same time. Only non-human characters may multiclass; humans are barred from this, although they have the ability to dualclass, an option unique to them.

A multiclassed character splits their experience points equally between their classes, gaining a wider variety of skills at the price of slower advancement. They gain all the abilities normally possessed by their classes, but are still bound by the restrictions of each class. A fighter/mage/thief may wear any armour and wield any weapon that can normally be used by one of these three classes, but will be unable to cast spells while wearing most forms of armour, and unable to backstab with weapons that are not suited to it.

Not all classes are open to multiclassing, and the options may be further limited by the character's race.
