An extension of the protagnist Bhaalspawn's power, created in the layer of the Abyss, once ruled by his/her sire, Bhaal - The Lord Of Murder.

By the time of BG2: Throne of Bhaal, the player has already once been in this plane, but it was altered by the consciousness of the player, without even the intent to do so. Currently its residents include Cespenar, the former butler imp for Bhaal, and the Fate Spirit, which has the ability to recall the player's companions... be they previously friend or foe in the past.

The Pocket Plane in BG2:Throne of Bhaal serves as the testing grounds for the PC, as he/she undertakes trials, first in conduct by the Solar, then when the training room is unlocked the challenges of martial might begin. It is also considered the safest rest zone in the expansion set, due to the fact there is no possibility for enemies to spawn before rest is over.

There are 5 challenges that await Gorion's Ward, the first is a test of Retribution as was said by another Bhaalspawn, who embraced his sire's taint, and its call for murder, often brutal and random.

The second involves a trial against what could have been the PC, if Gorion chose Sarevok over him/her.

The third is a trial of "innocence" to see if the PC would be willing to really surrender everything and everyone, just to have his/her old life back. Before the unglamourous exhile from Candlekeep, and the subsequent return only to find Sarevok one step ahead.

The fourth involves an illegal test by Cyric, the current Lord of Murder... who disregarded his title too much, and as such has been reduced to a minimal level of involvement by Ao. While he is left to ponder on the possibilites of a new Lord/Lady of Murder arising to usurp the Throne of Bhaal, which Cyric claimed for himself many years ago; the player must face off against some of his "Chosen" as a test to his/her power.

The last trial before the Throne of Bhaal, is against the Final aspect of Bhaal's avatars, which is more fearsome than the Slayer and three times as deadly: The Ravager.

The Pocket Plane does not take the player where he/she wants to be, but rather where he/she "needs to be" according to the Solar. Sarevok is also first encountered in this area, but for the first time, as a potential ally when granted back his mortality through the power of one of the most powerful Bhaalspawn remaining.
