(Note: There is some arguement about Saemon's true class, the manual describes him as a Swashbuckler/Mage. Shadowkeeper on the other hand, sees him as a Fighter/Mage. The statistics, are from Shadowkeeper)

Saemon Havarian is an infamous corsair who plies the trading lanes of the Sea of Swords and the Pirate Isles. Tales of his deeds range from the mischievous to the nefarious, from the completely outlandish to the adventurous and daring.

The only common thread amongst these stories is that Saemon’s past is largely unknown, he values his own skin above all other things and that his fortune has waxed and waned dramatically with each passing season.

Saemon often takes work where he can find it (and his skills as a seaman are well soughtafter) and has a distinct knack for being somehow involved in most of the grandiose plots in the region.

His encounter with the PC under the pretenses of working either with Mistress Bodhi, or Aran Linvail, depending on which side came victorious in the guild war, is to ferry the PC's party to the pirate island of Brynlaww as part of the planned attack on Spellhold.

As his reputation would suggest, he refrains from being involved directly in a scuffle, and often leaves others to take the hit; as the PC will constantly find out in their encounters throughout SOA and TOB.

While he feigns loyalty loosly, one thing is clear, he never leaves a debt unpaid. If his business is threatened, he will seek to undermine those responsible, such as the monks of Amkethran.

Overall despite his treachery, he is fairly jovial and keeps his head cool under extreme pressures, or at least enough so he can lay the blame on someone else. If anything, the misadventures he causes the player to go on, are eventually profitable... but very dangerous.

He goes under many aliases, but one thing is always constant:

Caution, is advised.
